Firstborn is looking for an Engagement Director to help lead the relationship for one of our main clients in our New York office.

In this role, you’ll be the main point of contact for senior level clients, working with them to define the brand’s digital strategy, creating and managing project roadmaps and ensuring project teams are working towards aligning with the larger goals and objectives set forth in that plan.

To do this, you’ll need to be immersed in your client’s business, understanding their brand and their unique set of business challenges. Through this, you will build and foster strong client relationships and look for new opportunities within the business.

The person we’re looking for will work closely with the internal project team(s) assigned to the account as well as with an Executive leadership to advise on the health of the client business and engagement overall.

It will be your responsibility to help identify and manage any retainer budgets, identify new opportunities based on your understanding of the client’s business, their needs and their consumer, and ensure that all delivered work aligns with both the client's and agency's KPIs.

You will be responsible for managing to internal revenue and margin targets and provide strategic guidance on setting internal targets as it relates to the assigned client relationship.

Key Duties

  • In-depth understanding of your client’s business and digital landscape
  • Work with our AOR clients to plan yearly roadmaps and/or year-long projects
  • Work with core AOR internal team to find ways of being proactive in presenting new ideas and creating opportunities for additional client work
  • Manage yearly calendars as well as partner with day-to-day Producers on project timelines
  • Help determine team strategy, milestones, scope and schedule as it relates to the overall client roadmap
  • Develop and build working relationships with clients
  • Advise on resourcing / planning meetings to account for staffing needs based on incoming and proactive opportunities
  • Communicate relationship and project status on a regular basis
  • Facilitate communication between clients, FB staff and third-party partners

Must Have

  • At least 6+ years in account/client management
  • Experience in building solid long-term client relationships
  • Strategic in identifying opportunities and bringing those to surface for the agency
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Keynote and SmartSheet/MS Project a plus
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and brand initiatives at one time
  • Be a confident presenter and negotiator
  • Digital and content (video and CG) production knowledge
  • Experience managing fitness accounts is also a plus.
